Technologies Designed to Meet the New CPR Guidlines
In the latest AHA and ERC Guidelines for CPR, recommendations were made to reduce the occurrence of excessive ventilation (delivering too many breaths, with too much force and too large a volume). Such ventilation was noted to cause gastric inflation, aspiration and reduced coronary and cerebral perfusion.
While more training on the use of bag-valve-masks would seem to be the answer, O-Two Medical Technologies’ innovations help resolve this Inadvertent Hyperventilation. They eliminate the guess work on how to squeeze a “bag” allowing the rescuer to focus on the patient’s needs versus their own bagging performance.
