“Manual
Ventilation Training… Helps the Provider Eliminate
Gastric Insufflation”!
Students being trained in Bag-Valve-Mask ventilation are generally
taught to ventilate until the chest rises. However, studies
have shown that the delivery of incorrect rate and volumes
is common. If the lungs are over-inflated or the delivered
flow rate is too high, the high airway pressure generated will
cause air to enter the stomach. In real life this can only
be seen when the patient’s abdomen distends and/or they
begin to vomit.
The Mini Ventilation Training Analyzer has been developed to
demonstrate the correct ventilation technique when using a
Bag-Valve-Mask resuscitator and the complications of gastric
insufflation associated with incorrect technique.
Base on a normal adult lung capacity, compliance, airway resistance
and lower esophageal sphincter (LES) pressure, the Mini Ventilation
Training Analyzer responds to the student’s squeeze of
the BVM like a real patient. If they squeeze the BVM too quickly
or forcefully, the high pressure they generate (due to high
air flow from the BVM) will cause air to enter the stomach
through the calibrated Lower Esophageal Sphincter.
The Mini Ventilation Training Analyzer is a unique tool that
teaches real life skills while identifying real life problems.
It can also be used for training in the proper use of manually
triggered, gas powered resuscitators.

Disinfecting
CPR manikins between students is common practice, however,
the exhaled air remaining in the manikin’s lungs from
previous student still constitutes a potential health risk.
The Bio-Barrier® CPR Manikin Training Faceshield provides over 99% bacterial
and viral filtration efficiency with minimal resistance to the passage of air.
By reducing the risk of contamination from the exhaled breath remaining in the
manikin, you remove the need for simulated breathing or wiping down of the manikin
between students thus saving training time and promoting “real life” skills.
The large shield size of the Bio-Barrier® CPR Manikin Training Faceshield
provides excellent coverage of the face of any manikin. The pliable yet extremely
strong shield provides excellent sealing characteristics against the manikin’s
face.
Packaged in a unique plastic “tissue dispenser style box” the Bio-Barrier® CPR
Manikin Training Faceshield is a simple, cost effective method of improving student
safety during CPR instruction.
